HYPERTION PROJECT

Raising consciousness by expanding spatial perception

The Story

BEYOND YOUR OWN BODY

Various meditative practices, including mirroring, have in common that they encourage detachment from one's limited physical identity. This may even be the prerequisite for self-experience, with the subject self coexisting with the object self. The Alt institute has taken a closer look at a technique capable of “overflowing” our consciousness by disrupting our notion of space.

PUSHING BACK THE BOUNDARIES

Our team's intuition led them to adopt a geometric perspective to overcome the constraints of our physical condition. That's why we decided to explore the idea not of a rectangular prism, but of a sphere. Built on a human scale, its inner lining would be entirely reflective. The guinea pigs immersed inside could experience vision close to that permitted in four dimensions, a kind of 360-degree hyper-perception of themselves.

FOUR-DIMENSIONAL VISION

Once inside the structure, our reflection is very clear, although the surroundings are very distorted.

As you get closer, your face grows and grows until you reach the center, where it now fills your entire field of vision. The experimenter's perception can follow a 4D rotation from a transverse perspective on a 2D plane. Similar to stereographic projection, the device allows you to observe yourself 'from every angle', or even to 'pass through' yourself in the manner of an astral projection.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUPER-CONSCIOUSNESS

Fantastic prospects are opening up in the fields of both psychiatry and creativity. As science has already demonstrated the unconscious capacity of the human brain to shape multiple abstract structures, the Alt Institute will be working in the future to develop consciousness to as many additional degrees as possible using intelligent tools.
